On Saturday, May 3, we transformed a top-secret venue at Boston’s Quincy Market at Faneuil Hall in partnership with Graffito SP, where over 600 guests joined us to celebrate the launch of Boston Art Review‘s Issue 14: Half Full.
For the VIP pre-party, sound designer and artist Skooby Laposky created an immersive, real-time listening experience using biodata from the party’s pop-up jungle, featuring plants from The Centerpiece Flower Shop. Althea treated guests to a tasting experience with deluxe small bites while Bouquet Appétit crafted a bespoke (and BAR themed) grazing board.
At 8:30, the dance party started, with sound design by Sound Logic Boston, lighting by Pirone Productions, and projections from Illuminus, featuring work by Lani Asunción, Cristobal Cea, Jack Gruman, Janella Mele, Jenni Nelson, Allison Tanenhaus, and Constanza Alarcón Tennen. DJ Dee Diggs, Alfredo Rico-Dimas, and Private Dancer kept the party going all night.
Drinks were generously provided by Topo Chico, Jorge Ordóñez Wines, Samuel Adams, Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, Velo Vodka, and Tilden and HOST/ONAR Events kept the cocktails coming.
We’re so grateful to Kadeema Rentals and Simplistic Charm for transforming the venue into an eclectic lounge and dance party space, and we are tremendously grateful for Sheldon Gray of Dive Bar Caviar Events & PR for providing the expertise needed to pull off the party of the year.
We were also pleased to announce the sale of an exclusive six-color jigsaw woodblock print by artist Sónia Almeida printed by Stone Hill Press (Woburn) and produced by Caira Art Editions (Cambridge). With only 25 numbered editions, this artwork represents our first benefit print edition where all proceeds will go toward sustaining Boston Art Review’s future.
